Le'Veon Bell Fantasy Analysis

  • Bell injures groin
Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell injured his groin in the 1st quarter of Sunday's loss to the Patriots. He re-entered for 1 carry but obviously wasn't comfortable and exited for good. It's a disappointing end to a marvelous season. In 14 healthy games, including the playoffs, Bell averaged 114.6 rushing yards, 5.6 catches, 44.2 receiving yards and .79 TDs. Arizona's David Johnson was the only RB to average more PPR points per game. This is, though, the 3rd straight season that ended with an injury for Bell. He hyperextended his knee in 2014 and tore his MCL and PCL last year. The good news is that Bell turns just 25 in February, so he still has age on his side. He's set to hit free agency in March, but it'd be a surprise if Pittsburgh let him get away. Full Story

  • Steelers-Chiefs moved to Sunday night
The NFL has moved kickoff of the Steelers-Chiefs game to 8:20 pm ET on Sunday. The game was originally scheduled to start at 1:05 ET, but Kansas City is expected to get slammed by an ice storm this weekend. The current forecast calls for a 100% chance of rain and 32-degree temperatures for Sunday night, so we're not sure what the new kickoff time is accomplishing. Wind isn't expected to be an issue, but the conditions will obviously be less than ideal for the passing games. Full Story

  • Roethlisberger, Bell & Brown "probably" won't play Week 17
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin admitted Tuesday that QB Ben Roethlisberger, RB Le'Veon Bell and WR Antonio Brown "probably" won't play against the Browns this weekend. If they do, it won't be for more than a series or 2 in the meaningless game. None of the 3 should be in Week 17 fantasy lineups. Landry Jones figures to start at QB with Eli Rogers, Cobi Hamilton and Jesse James as his top 3 weapons. Rogers and James are lower-end fantasy options. We'll be curious to find out whether DeAngelo Williams will get a hefty workload. He'd be a strong fantasy play against a bad Cleveland run defense. Fitzgerald Toussaint is Pittsburgh's other option at RB. Full Story
