Yesterday was one of those days where the fantasy gods look down upon us and smile. I had the opportunity to join DIRECTV and ooVoo during their live press event highlighting all of the cool things they've got this season. Maurice Jones-Drew and Roddy White fielded fantasy questions and had some banter of their own. MJD picked Arian Foster as his ultimate sleeper in 2010, so I asked for his ultimate sleepers this year. I also asked Roddy about the potential for Larry Fitzgerald to reclaim his fantasy glory now that he has an upgrade at quarterback. Before wrapping it up, I had to ask MJD his opinion on whether or not we should be drafting Le'Veon Bell (something I did just a few days earlier). The video is below:
I'm in roughly a dozen plus leagues each year with a nice mix of industry, money, and personal leagues. Two of my favorites are the FFN Users Leagues where 11 other fantasy football nerds get an opportunity to beat up on me all year long. The first of the two leagues drafted this past Sunday night - PPR scoring with bonus points at 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing/receiving.
One of the cool things about collecting all of these rankings is the ability to see the movement within them. For example, everyone was awfully high on Tavon Austin just a few weeks ago, but now he's sitting 83rd overall and 32nd among WR's. That's down almost a dozen spots. As Week 1 approaches we should start to see things tighten up a bit more. Unless there's significant injuries or position battles, we should start to see less movement within the rankings. Here's what we've seen recently.
Every commissioner runs into this issue eventually. When should we hold our fantasy football draft? Instead of trying to juggle everyone's schedule and emails bouncing back and forth, use the FREE Draft Date Picker from FantasyFootballNerd.com.
