Steve Smith, the star wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers, was carted off to the locker room today. Reports are unclear as to the extent and type of injury he may have experienced. He appeared to be grabbing his right arm after the collision.
The star receiver was visibly angry and in pain before being taken to the locker room.
Steve Smith is currently ranked #6 among wide receivers on FantasyFootballNerd.com and #23 overall.
Update: Tuesday, August 11 2009
Reports indicate that Smith will be out for at least 2 weeks and may have an MRI on his right shoulder. It's too early to tell whether or not this will impact his fantasy value. Smith is widely known as a fierce receiver with a high threshold for pain. He remains one of the hardest working receivers in the NFL so don't count him out when your draft day comes.
