Happy Friday to all. We're on the final countdown to the season so that's got me excited. A 3-day weekend also gets me pretty pumped. Amid all this happiness though is the report today from NFL.com that Maurice Jones-Drew bruised his thigh in last night's game against the Redskins. Reading the headline gave me an immediate "Uh-Oh". Not because I was fortunate enough to have a low enough pick to be able to draft MJD, but rather because I'd hate to see another "Brady-esque" type of injury impacting someone's season. It would be horrible to see someone's 1st round pick injured before the season even began.
Fortunately, it doesn't appear to be all that serious. The Jaguars have said that MJD may not be 100% for Week 1. It will be nice to get an update once the extent of the injury is known. He'll still play, but how many carries will he take? The nerd in me is pretty curious to see his Week 1 Sit/Start rankings once I turn that engine on.
On a much lighter note, one of my co-workers (thanks Andrea!) brought to my attention a website that I was not aware of before. It always seems that I'm way behind the curve on what's new (In my defense - it was only founded last month). It's called PeopleOfWalmart.com. Take a look below:
The caption is "You don't get that tan in Arizona".
This was definitely the funniest site I've seen in a while and it's a concept that everyone can relate to. I'll admit that my wife does the vast majority of our shopping, but it's not like I haven't been to a Walmart before. Even with my limited Walmart shopping experience, I have seen some folks there not unlike those portrayed on the site. It's nice to know that those customers are a national phenomenon.
Some of you are aware that I've created my own Fantasy Football Spoofmercials, but sometimes there's just no substitute for quality. I love the NFL Fantasy Files. I think last year's videos were better, but the 2009 videos are still really good. If you haven't seen them before, check 'em out. My favorite is Joe Flacco this year.
Very impressive movie-making and worth the 30 seconds of my time.
Enjoy your holiday weekend all!
