Tyrod Taylor Fantasy Analysis

  • Bills tab Dennison as OC
The Bills have hired Rick Dennison as OC. Dennison spent the past 2 years as Denver's OC under Gary Kubiak -- and also coordinated Kubiak's Texans offenses from 2010 to 2013. It's notable that Dennison worked with Tyrod Taylor as Baltimore's QB coach in 2014. We'll see if Taylor is Dennison's QB in Buffalo in 2017 and beyond. Full Story

  • Taylor having surgery Thursday
Bills QB Tyrod Taylor is undergoing surgery on Thursday to address a core muscle injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. This is presumably the "severe groin injury" that he played through over the last month of the season. Taylor is expected to need 6 weeks to recover, so it shouldn't impact his offseason much. The big question, of course, is whether he'll remain in Buffalo. Full Story

  • Taylor played through "severe groin injury"
Bills QB Tyrod Taylor played through a "severe groin injury" for the past month, according to the Buffalo News' Vic Carucci. He didn't show any signs of it on the field, averaging 35.3 rushing yards over his last 4 games -- just a slight decrease from his 39.9 over the first 11. Carucci adds that the groin injury "could need more attention in offseason," presumably meaning surgery. Taylor's health and employer will be worth closely monitoring over the next few months. • Taylor to bench, Manuel will start Week 17
The Bills will bench QB Tyrod Taylor for Sunday's finale vs. the Jets, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "This is a business decision so the Bills are not at risk for the $30.75 million left on his contract that would become guaranteed if Taylor suffered a significant injury," Schefter reports. The team will need to decide this offseason whether it wants to exercise Taylor's option and sign him through 2021 or release him. He had an up-and-down 2016 campaign, finishing with a 61.7% completion rate, 6.9 yards per attempt, 17 TDs and 6 INTs. QB E.J. Manuel will start against the Jets this weekend. He's just a QB2 flier and is a downgrade for WR Sammy Watkins. Full Story

  • Bills fire Rex Ryan
The Bills have fired HC Rex Ryan and DC Rob Ryan. The news is only surprising in that it came before this weekend's season finale. Ryan finishes his 2-year Bills tenure with a 15-16 record. OC Anthony Lynn will take over as interim HC and reportedly has a shot to earn the full-time gig next season. Full Story
