Fred Jackson Fantasy Analysis

  • Turbin has high-ankle sprain
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll revealed that RB Robert Turbin has a high-ankle sprain.  It was presumably suffered in last weekend's preseason game.  That'd put Turbin in danger of missing the season-opener -- and maybe even the first few weeks of the season.  Seattle is hosting free-agent RB Fred Jackson, who would likely take over as the #2 RB if signed.  Stay tuned. • Bills release Fred Jax
The Bills have released RB Fred Jackson.  The 34-year-old missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury but returned for this past weekend's preseason game and busted off 48 yards and a score on 5 carries.  He looked ready to serve as Buffalo's #2 RB.  But the Bills are moving on and saving over $2 million.  It leaves them with Karlos Williams, Bryce Brown and Boobie Dixon behind LeSean McCoy.  Williams was having a strong camp before being hospitalized with a still-undisclosed issue.  The latest report had the rookie expected to be ready for Week 1.  He's the best bet to emerge as McCoy's handcuff but is only worth rostering in deep fantasy leagues. • Jackson back at practice Saturday
Bills RB Fred Jackson (hamstring) returned to practice on Saturday.  He'd been sidelined since early in camp but is now on track to play in Buffalo's 3rd preseason game.  Barring another injury, Fred Jax will be the #2 RB in a run-heavy offense behind a starter who's currently sidelined with his own hamstring injury.  Jackson is worth stashing on fantasy benches. • Bills hope to have Jackson back for 3rd exhibition
The Bills are hoping RB Fred Jackson (hamstring) can be back in time for the 3rd preseason game.  Fred Jax has been sidelined since early in camp.  His health has taken on more importance with both LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Karlos Williams (undisclosed) ailing.  Jackson is a strong bet to win the #2 RB job as long as he can stay on the field. • Fred Jax dealing with a hamstring injury
Bills RB Fred Jackson has a hamstring injury and "could" miss "a couple weeks," per ESPN's Mike Rodak. Jackson is slated for a part-time role behind LeSean McCoy. But the 34-year-old has missed at least 2 games in 3 of the last 4 seasons. Outside of deep PPR leagues, Jackson isn't a desirable draft day target. Full Story
