Benjamin Cunningham Fantasy Analysis

  • Mason on track to play Week 2
Rams RB Tre Mason (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.  Barring a setback, he'll play against the Redskins this weekend.  RB Todd Gurley (knee) has a chance to play on Sunday, but we're still betting against it.  If that's the case, Mason will be a good bet for 15+ touches.  RB Benny Cunningham will return to a passing-down role. • "Not a lot of optimism" about Mason
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that there's "not a lot of optimism" regarding RB Tre Mason's (hamstring) availability for today's game against the Seahawks.  That's no surprise considering Mason didn't practice at all this week.  Look for RB Benny Cunningham to serve as St. Louis' lead back.  That matchup leaves him as a low-upside RB3. • Mason questionable for Week 1
Rams RB Tre Mason (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.  He didn't practice all week, though, making him seem less than 50/50 to suit up.  Even if Mason is active, we'd avoid him in fantasy lineups at less than 100% in a tough matchup.  If Mason is out, RB Benny Cunningham would be in for a big workload.  But the matchup and his mediocre skill set would leave him as just a low-upside flex option. • Mason misses practice
Rams RB Tre Mason sat out Wednesday's practice with his hamstring injury. That continues to point toward his Sunday status being a game-time decision. Even if Mason starts, a weakened hammy and a matchup with Seattle makes him an unattractive fantasy option. Full Story

  • Gurley expected to miss first 3 games
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says not to expect to see Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) for the first 3 weeks of the season. The team wants to make sure he's "back fully" from last year's torn ACL, per Rapoport. That's not a surprise considering the Rams have taken it slowly with Gurley from the get-go. It sounds like Week 4 is the target date. He could then be eased in for a couple of games, get a Week 6 bye and potentially take over as the lead back for the final 11 games. RB Tre Mason ? if he can get over his hamstring issue ? will be St. Louis' starter until Gurley is ready. RB Benny Cunningham is next in line if Mason is out. Full Story
