Ben Roethlisberger Fantasy Analysis

  • Roethlisberger a "long shot" for Week 6
ESPN's Adam Schefter calls Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) a "long shot" to return for Week 6.  Big Ben is reportedly pushing to play against the Cardinals and his former OC, Bruce Arians.  The fact that it's even a possibility means he's getting close to a return.  We're thinking that Week 8 against the Bengals is the worst-case scenario. • Big Ben expected to miss at least 3 more games
ESPN's Ed Werder hears that Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) is expected to miss at least 3 more games.  That jibes with the original 4-6 week timetable we got for Big Ben.  Pittsburgh gets the Cardinals, Chargers and Chiefs the next 3 weeks before a big game against the Bengals.  That Week 8 showdown is likely circled on Roethlisberger's calendar. • Roethlisberger expected to miss 4-6 weeks
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports that the MRI on Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger's knee revealed a sprained MCL.  There's no damage to his ACL.  Roethlisberger is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, according to ESPN Chris Mortensen.  Mort adds that Pittsburgh is "planning for the high end" of that range.  It's still good news after what looked like a potential season-ending injury.  Big Ben should be back sometime between Week 8 and Week 10.  The Steelers have a Week 11 bye, so it's possible they hold him out until Week 12, but consider that the worst case.  Roethlisberger is worth stashing if you have the roster space.  QB Michael Vick will start in the meantime and be an intriguing 2-QB league and cheap DFS play. • Roethlisberger out "at least" 4 weeks
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger will miss "at least" 4 weeks with the knee injury suffered in Sunday's win over the Rams.  He'll undergo an MRI on Monday, which will give us a clearer timetable.  Pittsburgh's bye isn't until Week 11.  QB Michael Vick will take over as the starter. • Steelers "hopeful" Roethlisberger's ACL is intact
The Steelers are "hopeful" that QB Ben Roethlisberger's ACL is intact, a source tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.  He'll undergo an MRI, which will tell us exactly what kind of damage he's dealing with.  If Big Ben's ACL isn't torn, there's a good chance we see him again this season.  Stay tuned.
