Fantasy Football Running Back Handcuffs

2021 Fantasy Football Handcuffs

What are fantasy football handcuffs?

A handcuff in fantasy football is the running back next in line. Let's say that you drafted a running back in the first round of your draft. That's likely to be a high-performing back on an offense that puts up points. If your running back gets injured, it's the backup's job to step in. So, let's say your star running back got injured in Week 6 and someone else drafted his backup. Guess what? That owner now has a starting RB on a high-scoring offense, and he/she did it with a late round pick. If you had drafted the backup, you wouldn't have missed a beat. Handcuffing your running back simply means drafting his backup as one of your later-round picks.
