Matt Forte Fantasy Analysis

  • Forte returns to limited practice Wednesday
Jets RB Matt Forte (toe) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. That gives him a shot to return for Sunday's game against the Patriots. It's especially noteworthy with RB Bilal Powell iffy with his calf injury. The Week 6 fantasy outlook for the Jets backfield is completely up in the air right now. We'll continue to monitor the situation. Full Story

  • Forte out for Week 5
Jets RB Matt Forte (toe) is out for Sunday's game against the Browns. He didn't practice all week and has no timetable for return. Bilal Powell gets another game as the lead back, making him a rock-solid RB2 in fantasy lineups. RB Elijah McGuire could be a bye-week spot-starter in deeper leagues after tallying 12 touches last week. Full Story

  • Forte still out Wednesday
Jets RB Matt Forte (toe) did not practice on Wednesday. He's dealing with turf toe and has no timetable for return. With Forte sidelined last weekend, RB Bilal Powell played 66% of the offensive snaps and handled 25 touches. Full Story

  • Forte has turf toe
Jets RB Matt Forte confirmed that he's dealing with turf toe on his left foot. That's been the thought since we learned x-rays ruled out a broken bone. Forte also revealed that he had the same issue as a rookie back in 2008. That injury didn't cost him any games. This one is expected to. Turf toe has a tendency to linger -- and it's a bigger concern for a 31-year-old RB whose body has already shown signs of breaking down. Full Story

  • Forte "likely out" for Week 4
Jets RB Matt Forte (toe) is "likely out" for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport labels Forte "week-to-week," so he might miss more than just 1 game. His absence will leave the backfield to Bilal Powell and Eliijah McGuire. Powell is the preferred fantasy play but isn't more than a RB3 or flex after averaging just 2.6 yards per carry over the first 3 weeks. Full Story
